Business and Executive Coaching

Time and again we read that there is a link between progressive individual development practice and business performance. Coaching is one of these progressive practices. As Transactional Analysts we enable insights within a outcome focussed process ensuring that the client develops both professionally and personally and has a "toolkit" for life not just for work.

We understand the importance of clarity in contracting both with the client and with the funding organisation. This contract may therefore be anything from two handed upwards. A client may be self-financing or may be financed by their organisation. Where the organisation is involved perhaps too is their line manager and their M.D. and so on. The more people involved the greater the complexity and therefore ensuring boundaries and clarity in the contracting process is important. As Transactional Analysts we are trained to ensure that contracts are clear and widely understood, including the ethical issues of confidentiality and the boundaries related to this.

In addition we believe that it is important for those being coached to have time and space that is just for them. For this reason we coach people away from their office and away from the telephone, enabling firm boundaries to be established.

Further, where we have a coaching relationship with a management member we will not also work with their team as the psychological distance is compromised i.e. team members may not trust us as a team developer if we also work with their manager. Of course we all talk about the fact that we are all adults and can manage this, however, experience has shown that it is professionally more expedient to have different people undertaking these different roles.
